Video Marketing Made Easy, How You Can Super-Zoom Your Web Presence

There is a lot of talk online about video marketing. Is it just hype, or is video ripe for the picking? As always you can separate that which is ripe from that which is hype, and you should make some serious judgments about how you want to approach video. As far as whether or not you should get into it – it’s a no-brainer. You must! It is here to stay and will only grow stronger as a marketing force.

One can rightly say that text is one-dimensional, whilst video is certainly multi-dimensional, using visuals, audio, and text, to transmit the marketing message. Most of us realize this already. But what we may not realize is how important the video message is becoming and how fast it is changing. Not only are the production tools changing, the product itself is in metamorphosis.

The web buzz right now is all about viral videos, and it seems that producers, to stay in the fad, are generating more creative content. I did say fad, and I want to qualify that statement. Some viral videos are good, and some are even great, but most of them are just plain silly. That is just my opinion. Perhaps you agree?

The viral video itself may spread around the globe quickly, but we have to ask the question, is it making sales? That is the bottom line for the online marketer. Sure it might drive traffic, but what kind – the paying kind?

If you are like me, and let’s face it, people generally speaking are the same all over the world. You know chalk from cheese when you taste it. If you are online to be entertained, then viral videos are for you. But if you are online to find a product or service that will fill your need, they don’t really help, except as a momentary distraction. Now ask yourself, honestly, how many times have you gone online looking for something and were distracted by watching viral videos? Many times, I am sure.

If you are a producer of video, you must decide how you are going to position yourself in the content and quality of what you produce. Those who are positioned or practicing to be positioned as a commercial content producer will find themselves in a very good place in the very near future. There is an old saying -get to the point quickly. Why, because busy people have very little time to waste. Busy people are in business, they spend money to make money. This is the real market, the other – the surreal.

When the video hosting companies figure out how to monetize the video content on their sites, content which they are currently losing money hosting, the commercial content producer will be a key factor in their monetizing transition. Many commercial content producers have been experimenting with how to position their videos on the free hosting video sites without breaching their rules and regulations. It’s a fine line they walk.

The video commercial is just around the corner. Video hosting companies like You Tube and others know it, and the video producers know it, even though some of them won’t admit it. The smart ones are preparing for it. Are you?
